The HI Good Samaritan Foundation was started by Hawaii Cedar Church

alongside with the beginning of food bank service (2004)
and opening of  "The House of Love" (2005) for those who struggle with drug addiction.

With the 35th anniversary of the inaugural of the church,
the church and the foundation agreed to operate separately.
In August 2009, the Good Samaritan Foundation declared its independence from Hawaii Cedar Church
and now operates solely under its own power and authority, without receiving any influence from the church.

The name of the foundation,

The Good Samaritan, is based on the verses of Luke, chapter 10, verse 27 through 37 in the Bible.

In February 2020, We changed the name to "HI Good Samaritan Foundation".

본재단은 하와이백향목교회가 2004년 푸드뱅크 서비스, 2005년 마약환자 갱생원‘사랑의집’을

오픈하면서 본격적인 사회복지사업을 시작하게 되었습니다.

2009년 교회창립35주년을 맞이하여,

교회와 사회복지사업을 분리하여 대외에 재단창립을 공공연하게 알린 것은 2009년 8월입니다.

재단공식명칭을 성경 누가복음10장27절부터 37절에 근거하여

‘굿사마리탄재단’(GOOD SAMARITAN FOUNDATION)으로 명명하였으며,

2020년 2월 재단이름을 하이 굿사마리탄 재단으로 변경하였습니다.
